Eclectique Design was born out of a longstanding passion for creative. Always one to be found drawing or making things when I was little, and then going on to explore different media during my Art A level days. I ended up parking the art education there, studying for a marketing degree at university and pursuing a career in marketing. I did, however, always retain my love for art through regular evening classes, where I would do life or portrait drawing. This was a little world of relaxing escapism for me.

 

During my career I was lucky enough to spend 10 years working in Brand Marketing for one of the biggest entertainment companies in the UK. It was a job I loved, understanding the importance of brands and working with some of the best design and advertising agencies out there. I helped shape briefs, overseeing the full creative process to its final output, whether it be a press ad, a TV ad or even a fully immersive brand experience. I learnt so much and it was so good to be doing a job that had so many creative aspects to it. But then a little voice in my head would start whispering to me during creative meetings, where I would just wish I could be the one coming up with the ideas and designing them myself.

 

After having my second child and wanting a bit more flexibility in my life, as well as my first child being diagnosed with epilepsy and needing more of my time, I made the big decision to change my career path. Well…evolve it really. I left my job and threw myself into a number of courses and learning portals and coming out the other side with an Adobe suite license. My initial jobs were favours to friends with new businesses, but gradually, actual paid work started to come in, and I continued learning and teaching myself new skills when a new brief required it. 

 

Fast forward to today and  here I am now; fully accomplished in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and more recently trained and working with After Effects and Premier Pro, and with clients spanning many sectors including finance, IT, HR, hospitality, wellbeing, charity.  

 

Eclectique Design is an all-rounded service that has brought my historical skill set of brand consultancy and brand development together with my new creative skill set in graphic design. I offer design services for print, press, web and video. I’ve worked on some fantastic briefs and have particularly loved the jobs where I have helped small business create and shape their brand.
